The herpes simplex virus is of two types – HSV-1 and HSV-2. HSV-2 usually causes genital herpes. Generally there are little or no signs of this infection. Since a professional should take the blood sample, there are no at-home kits available for this test. The results can be available as quickly as 24 hours – 3 days after testing. These results can be viewed online also. While anti-viral drugs can treat herpes, Aloe Vera is said to be very effective against genital herpes.
